What can be done with our remote assistance?


  • Removal of viruses, trojans, adware, spyware. A follow up session maybe needed if the infestation is severe.
  • Fixing software related issues such as performance problems, email configuration, software installation and configuration problems.
  • Optimizing your computer for speed. This includes removing unnecessary files, software, startup items.
  • Setting up, or performing a backup of your system or personal files, as well as restoring files from such backup. This requires you to have a storage device such as a secondary internal hard drive, or a zip, usb external hard drive.
  • Troubleshooting printing issues, if it's not hardware related, example: printer is starting up fine, not displaying any error messages that it is not out of ink, or toner.
  • Training, or demonstration sessions. Examples include: personalizing your computer to your computing needs, setting up email, digital music, software, etc.
  • An assessment of the state of the computer to determine whether it's worth fixing or not and how much the fixing up would cost.

Note: While a wide variety of problems can be fixed using Remote Sessions, not everything can be fixed. Some problems may turn out to be hardware related, therefore requiring an onsite visit.

Can anyone get back into my computer after my session is over?


No, not until you call again and request service. Only you can initiate the application when you click on it.


Is it secure?


Yes. You will be initiating an encrypted connection between your computer and the technician's computer. The encryption is a 1024 Bit key exchange and 256 Bit encryption. This is a secure one-to-one session that no one else can view or access during the session.

Only you can initiate a remote support session by giving the technician an ID number to connect and you can end a session by simply closing the mini applet. You are always in control of your mouse. During your session you will see the technician using your cursor to locate and fix problems. At any time you can over-ride mouse control by simply moving your mouse.
